Highlights from the 2024 National Leadership Conference…
What We Do
The Monona Grove Education Foundation has had decades of impact in both communities and all areas of the Monona Grove School District. Through fundraising efforts of the foundation and individual generosity of alumni, community members, and businesses, necessary resources have been given back to the district to expand opportunities for students, teachers, and staff. Throughout it all, the MGEF encourages the exploration and development of creative and innovative programs and ideas to meet the constantly changing needs of our district.
Examples of the impact the MGEF has had on the district:
Raised funds for the high school orchestra pit
Provided guest speakers, artists, and authors in residence
Enrichment programs for students and staff
Assisted individuals with providing scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors
Materials for staff development and awareness in the areas of equity and cultural competence
Student participation at State and National SKILLS USA competitions
Professional composer to collaborate with 7th and 8th grade students to compose and perform an original piece for stringed instruments
Purchase of equipment for MG21
Science field trip to Aldo Leopold Nature Center for 180 kindergartners
After school program celebrating culture through dance
“Listen. Speak Up. Act. Lead.” summit for female student-athletes in high school
Student mentorship program for 6th and 7th grade students
Increase access for students of color to post-secondary education and career opportunities
Purchase of a new grand piano for the high school choir
